Privacy policy

Tokyo Brew Tycoon for iPhone · Effective 16 October 2026

Tokyo Brew Tycoon is made by Luca Lupo (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads and nothing is sold. The game records anonymous play statistics so we can balance it and measure our own advertising, and you can switch that off in Settings at any time.

What we collect, and why

Play statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

The game sends anonymous gameplay events to Google Analytics for Firebase, such as which tutorial steps you finished, which level and rank you reached, which skills you learned, how shifts went, which settings you changed, and which in-app purchases were started, completed or cancelled (including the pack and its price). These events carry a random Firebase app instance ID and your random in-game support code, along with your device model, iOS version, country and app version. They are never linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and we do not use them for advertising profiles. We use them to see where players get stuck and to balance the game.

Google processes this data on our behalf under the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase data processing terms. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Firebase project, at most 14 months, and then deleted automatically.

Ad measurement (Meta SDK)

We run ads for the game on Facebook and Instagram. To know which ads actually brought players to the game, the app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK. It reports that the app was installed and opened, in-app purchases, and a few progress milestones (finishing the tutorial, reaching a level or rank, reaching the shop, finishing the story). Meta may combine these events with your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, under the Meta Privacy Policy.

On first launch iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt (“Allow Tokyo Brew to track your activity…”). Only if you tap Allow does the Meta SDK receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you tap Ask App Not to Track, the events are still sent, but without the identifier. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Allowing or refusing tracking has no effect on the game, and you will never see ads inside it either way.

In-app purchases (Apple)

Beans and yen packs are bought through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles payment and keeps your payment details; we never see your card or billing address. The game only receives a confirmation of which pack was bought so it can credit it. Apple's handling of purchases is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

iCloud save (optional)

If you turn on iCloud save in Settings, your game progress is stored in iCloud key-value storage on your own Apple account so it can follow you between your devices. It lives in your iCloud, not on any server of ours, and we cannot read it. Turning the switch off stops syncing.

Game Center (optional)

If you are signed in to Game Center, the game reports your scores to its leaderboards and your achievements to Apple. Game Center is run by Apple under its own privacy terms, and you can sign out of it in iOS Settings.

Motion data (walk mode)

With your permission the game checks whether you are walking during a shift so it can offer simpler one-handed controls. This uses the iPhone's motion sensors only. Motion data stays on your iPhone and is never sent anywhere. You can decline the permission or turn walk mode off in Settings; the rest of the game is unaffected.

Notifications

Reminders such as “Training finished” are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. There is no push server and no notification data leaves the device. The Lock Screen Live Activity works the same way.

This website

tokyobrewtycoon.com uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and does not identify you; it sees the page, the referring site, and your rough country and device type.

Children

Tokyo Brew Tycoon is rated 9+ on the App Store. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the data we hold about you, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because the game stores no account, the only data we can connect to you is the anonymous analytics tied to your support code; email us with it and we will act on your request within 30 days. We do not sell or “share” personal information in the CCPA sense.

Changes

If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and the effective date above, and point to it from the App Store listing. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the game's release notes.
